3 types of inventory
Orderwave extends the way inventory is tracked by offering 3 types of
inventory records.
- Standard Inventory Part
This is the most common type of inventory. Inventory can be
identified by 2 different unique product codes and categorized into
an inventory catalog. The orderwave interface tracks product
weight, default price, cost, dimensions, manufacturers, location and
status values.
- Kitted Part
You can group SKUs together to form inventoried kits; pre-kitted
bundles that can be ordered through 1 unique SKU. Kitted parts
have all of the features of a standard inventory parts plus a
configuration table that links them to their components.
- Virtual Kits
The virtual kit is an exclusive orderwave feature. It allows
you to create kitted parts that can be ordered like any standard
part, but all inventory deductions occur on the components that make
up the kit. This makes managing inventory easy by letting you
concentrate on inventory levels as they pertain to 1 part, not many.

Interactive inventory reporting
One of the most used and most useful features in the orderwave inventory module is the pending request summary. This is interactive report shows you a view of your inventory that clearly outlines what you have in stock and what quantities are being requested by pending orders. This report is a guide to help you manage what inventory you will need to process your pending orders and prevent backorders from occurring. There are many useful interactive tools in the orderwave inventory module.

The search implementation in orderwave is configured to always deliver the most relevant matches to your query, so you wont find yourself wasting time digging through hundreds of records.
